English Violin c1770 by Richard Duke.
Branded "Duke" to back below button and lower back.
Mostly thin grain to front, some uneveness. Two piece medium/tight flamed maple back with matching ribs.
Fully restored, including soundpost patch to front. Please see photos for further details.
Neck replaced and scroll grafted. Peg holes bushed.
Original varnish, but worn to a lighter brown - some retouch.
Now in excellent condition.
Wonderful fully rounded tone, great response, even across strings, a delight to play.
