SOLD French 3/4 Violin by Riviere & Hawkes

This lovely antique 3/4 French violin is labelled "The Professor Violin, 1887, Riviere & Hawkes . . ."

It is in excellent condition with no damage or restorations, practically mint.

It has a good looking two-piece flamed maple back and matching ribs. Neat workmanship. Lovely golden/amber varnish, original throughout, with chamfers picked out in black.

Excellent tone for a 3/4 violin, this is a good quality violin.

It has a new set-up with quality rosewood & ebony fittings, a professionally cut bridge and Pirastro Tonica strings.

Length of back 332mm (just over 13").
