Magnificent Richard Duke violin, probably made for the Betts workshop

Magnificent Richard Duke violin, probably made for Betts. Unlike Duke's normal dark brown varnish, this violin has a lovely deep amber/orange varnish reminiscent of Betts varnish.

Stamped Duke, London to the back below the button.

Has a repair label "Repaired by Dearlove, Leeds . . . ".

Original neck built-up for modern playing.

Beautifully carved head, similar in style to Del Gesu.

Two piece delightfully flamed maple back with matching ribs.

Fabulous condition.

Newly set-up with rosewood fittings, a profesionally cut bridge and Evah Pirazzi strings.

LOB: 354mm

Looking for a professional player or discerning amateur.

Terrific tone, more to come, could do with some playing-in. Easy to play, even across strings - it's just all there.
