Full-size antique early (c1880) Louis Lowendall branded "L Lowendall, Dresden"
One of the better quality Lowendall's with a lovely deep red to the varnish and slightly smaller than the normal violin produced in Berlin.
Guarneri in style, with medium/fine grain to the front. Wide flamed maple back with matching ribs.
Plenty of original golden red varnish with just some scuffs to the back.
Good condition, just an historic repair to the back centre joint which appears firm, along with some scratched initials on the button.
Branded "Lowendall's Celebrated Conservatory Violin Guarnerius" to the back of the pegbox.
Professionally set-up with a Hill bridge and Tonica strings.
