SOLD French Violin c1890

This lovely antique full-size French violin is labelled H Clotelle from the turn of the century. Label probably fictitious.

It is in good condition, (although has some cosmetic damage due to its age), with a striking two-piece fairly tightly flamed maple back and matching ribs.

Powerful tone, easy response across all strings.

It has a new set-up with quality ebony fittings, a professionally cut bridge and Helicore strings.

It has a lovely dark golden/amber varnish, but a little chipped all over. Length of back 357mm.

This is a great sounding instrument suitable for a grade 8 student and above.
