SOLD Duke Copy Violin, France c1880

French student violin made in the style of Richard Duke, branded Duke below button on back, c1880.

Fairly plain woods throughout with a wax seal to the button.  One-piece back.

Good condition, just a squeezed rib below chin rest area.  (What appear to be cracks are deliberate scratches made during the making/ageing of the violin).

Dark amber varnish.  Purfling scratched rather than inlaid.

Quality new set-up with professinnally cut bridge and Pro-Arte strings.
