SOLD European 7/8 Violin, possibly French
7/8th or small full-size violin, possibly French with fictitious label "Gavinies, rue S Thomas du Louvre, a Paris 1734". Most likely late 19th/early 20th century.
LOB: 352, perfect for smaller hands
Terrific sound for a smaller violin, rich/soft/gentle with a good response.
Good condition, historic repair to ff hole wing - appears firm.
Lovely two-piece back with strong flame, matching ribs.
Small flecks/scratches to the amber varnish.
New set-up with ebony fittings, a professionally cut bridge and Pro Arte strings.
