European violin, possibly German, fictictiosly labelled "J B Vuillaume" and signed "Charles Buthod 1847" to interior.
Good looking red/amber varnish, but highly antiqued with just one repaired crack to the front (not soundpost or bass bar).
Strong flame to the two-piece maple back with matching ribs.
Now in good condition, with a set-up including ebony fittings, a professionally cut bridge and Pro Arte strings.

Good clean/open sound with a good response.
