Good quality French Viola 16 1/4" (41cm) by and labelled "JTL, Geronimo Barnabetti, Paris".
 
Hill number to fingerboard.
 
Lovely one-piece fairly flamed back with matching ribs.
 
Darkish amber varnish, plenty original. Slight craquelure to the front.
 
Ebony fittings and a new professionally cut bridge.
 
Small areas of excellent repair, probably done by Hills.
 
No cracks to front or back, just some bumps to varnish.
 
Full, resonant tone - a pleasure to play.
