Magnificent Richard Duke violin, probably made for Betts. Unlike Duke's normal dark brown varnish, this violin has a lovely deep amber/orange varnish reminiscent of Betts varnish.

Has a repair label "Repaired by Dearlove, Leeds . . . ".
Original neck built-up for modern playing.
Beautifully carved head, similar in style to Del Gesu.
Two piece delightfully flamed maple back with matching ribs.

Newly set-up with rosewood fittings, a profesionally cut bridge and Evah Pirazzi strings.
