School of Betts Violin, London
Delightful English C19th full-size violin - no label or brand visible, most likely a worker for the Betts workshop.
It has an original neck/scroll with a glorious amber/red varnish, original throughout.
Fantastic condition.
Front likely two different pieces - at first glance looks like a one piece - there is a pin mark on the front marking the centre joint and what appear to be semi-circle dents
Two piece maple back with fairly tight but gentle flame, no pins visible, matching ribs.
Fairly long corners with inlaid purfling.
Professionally set-up with ebony fittings and original old English boxwood pegs.
LOB: 353mm
Suitable for a professional player. Easy response, a delight to play.
