    Glorious violin by & labelled "John Furber Maker, 13 John's Row, top of Brick Lane, Old Street, London 1813".


    Fairly wide, but even grain to the spruce front.


    Delightful, striking one-piece maple back.


    Quality purfling with a charming bright/light centre, probably boxwood.


    Top quality replacement neck by Hills to allow for modern playing with neck graft and ebony crown.  Fingerboard stamped B75.


    The violin is also numbered 6114 internally and on bottom rib.


    Lovely deep red varnish on a golden ground.  Mostly original.


    Excellent condition.  Historic restorations to front, all firm, not soundpost or bass bar.  Small bump to edge on back.


    Newly set-up with profesionally cut bridge with rosewood and ebony fittings.

    Easy response, rounded tone, more to give.


    Suitable for a professional player.
