Violin by Richard Duke c1770
I am delighted to be able to offer another geniune Richard Duke c1770.
Has a repair label, mostly illegible, however, appears to be dated 1881.
Lovely dark brown varnish with a tinge of red on an amber ground.
Beautiful one-piece back with tight flame and matching ribs.
Restorations to front but not soundpost or bass bar. Historic repair to peg box appears firm.
Now in wonderful condition.
Set-up with ebony fittings, a professionally cut bridge and Evah Pirazzi strings.
Measurements suitable for the modern player.
LOB: 360mm
Suitable for a professional player - glorious tone with plenty more to give. A delight to play.
