    Good looking violin labelled "Joseph Couturieux a Paris, 1801".  However, more likely c1900.

     

    Lovely fairly tightly flamed two piece maple back with matching ribs.

     

    Original red/brown varnish throughout with chamfers picked out in black.

     

    New quality set-up with rosewood and ebony fittings, a professionally cut bridge and Tonica strings.

     

    Terrific tone for a violin in this price range, lovely easy and even response.

     

    Lovely condition, just minor damage to bass side peg box.
