Glorious antique English violin made by an associate of Joseph Hill, London c1780.
Comes with a letter of opinion from John Dilworth dated May 2025.
The most amazing back, distinctive fan shaped rising figure - glorious.
Professionally replaced new neck with ebony crown, replacement top block - all done to a high standard.
Cheeked, again to a lovely standard.
Inked purfling, well done.
Pin pricks still visible on scroll.
Lovely pale gold tint to varnish.
Restorations to front, including historic sound post patch - all firm.
Newly set-up with professionally cut bridge, ebony fittings and Pro Arte strings.
Could easily be converted to a baroque set-up.
