English late C18th/early C19th Small Violin with Glorious Back
Small English violin, late C18th - early C19th. Unlabelled.
Top block not original and some linings replaced.
Appears to have had a through neck orginally.
Striking, attractive, glorious one-piece back. Similar in appearance to John Furber violins, but that's where similarities end.
Neck, scroll replaced at some stage - lovely quality.
Attractive deep amber/red varnish.
Restorations to front and ribs, including small additions of new wood.
Ebony fittings with quality bridge and Pro Arte strings.
This gem has been well lived in - it has been a labour of love to bring this violin back to life!
LOB: 350mm
